Stratus 5 Hits Retailers
The all new Sirius Stratus 5 has just arrived at retail and is now available to the public. While not all retailers have the product yet, our site sponsor TSS-Radio has just received a shipment, and was kind enough to give us a heads up.
Now, before anyone asks, this is NOT an A-La-Carte radio. The stratus, will be capable of receiving Sirius programming as well as any “BEST OF” that a subscriber adds on to their service.
The Stratus 5 is a capable entry level unit that allows consumers all of the access to satellite radio for only $69.99. The new Stratus 5 has shifted away from the gray case and orange display and opted for a sleek black casing and blue display. The universal connections allow you easily shift your Stratus 5 between docking kits and audio systems for the home, office or other vehicles.
Stratus 5 represents a great value for a satellite radio newbie, a second receiver for an existing subscriber, or a great price point for a gift. The Stratus 5 is available at TSS-Radio. Tell ’em SiriusBuzz sent you.

It doesn’t add up. Why roll out a standard radio at the same time ala-carte radios are coming out? All existing radios can get “Best Of” packages. Why have this at the FCC during the merger process?
I am going to go out on a limb here and speculate. Could this be an entry-level free ad-supported radio? A cheap radio that gets a limited number of satrad channels for free? Does it have the advertising chipset?
Could be a normal radio, but the timing of it all makes no sense to me.
egis…
It makes perfect sense. They must have a range of products available this holiday season. At 69 bucks, this allows just about anyone to own a satellite radio. Keep the economy in mind.
Similar to the Sirius One, this is a very basic model, that is ideal for gift giving. And it looks a whole lot better.
Does anyone know if this will fit in the Stratus 4 car mount? I have my Stratus 4 hard mounted and if I could just pop this in (or better yet the a-la cart Stratus) that would be awesome.
Any idea what exactly is included in the “Best Of” package from Sirius and XM? How soon this will be available? I Know that the press release said early fall but……
Thanks in advance
what’s the difference between this and the stratus 4?
